Amazing Artists
In an effort to expand community relations, Harmony Day Support was given the opportunity to collaborate with Whitney and Heather, the School Program Specialist and Accessibility Coordinator at Amazement Square. With their help, we created an in-house art project which allowed the individuals to create self-portraits using the photos taken last month on picture day.
With the assistance from the wonderful staff at Amazement Square, the individuals had a chance to demonstrate their artistic prowess and create beautiful portraits of themselves. These portraits and their photos were then given as Christmas gifts to providers, caregivers, and family members.
It is always a joy to watch the individuals have opportunity for self-expression and creativity. We will be partnering with Amazement Square in the future to continue developing the artistic skills of the individuals and provide quality programming for personal growth.
Over the River and Through the City
It’s the most wonderful time of the year!
Adding to the hustle and bustle of the holiday season, the individuals at Harmony Day Support signed up to participate in the Bedford and Lynchburg Christmas Parades.
While the Bedford Christmas Parade proved to be too cold for us to leave the warmth of the bus, we were blessed with warmer weather on Sunday for the Lynchburg Parade. Layered with festive Christmas sweaters, beads and bangles, and tacky headbands, we ventured through the streets of Lynchburg to spread holiday cheer and awareness about our program.
The parades were a great opportunity to see the members of our community who make our town great. Santa even made an appearance to show his support of our small towns. We look forward to making this an annual tradition and can’t wait to see what happens in the coming new year!
Christmas Pajama Party
To wrap up the holiday season, we celebrated Christmas with a pajama party!
Individuals wore their coziest PJ’s, ate delicious treats, and opened their Christmas gifts from Santa. It was a day filled with gratitude, laughter, and holiday joy. We are so grateful for the ability to provide these events for the individuals. The festivity of the season is palpable when viewed through the eyes of the people we serve.
We wish all who are part of the Harmony Day Support family a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
