The January Edition - 2024
Ringing in the New Year
As we brave the cold winter months, individuals at Harmony Day Support showed their Christmas spirit through volunteer work. We were delighted to partner with the Salvation Army to ring the bell. This tradition began in 1891 and continues to serve the population through donations of food, clothing, and necessities. We loved the opportunity to continue this tradition over the holidays and had a blast ringing the bells!
Growing Together
Despite the chill in the air, Harmony Day Support has sprouted a budding partnership with a local Non-Profit: Lynchburg Grows. Thanks to the efforts of our Community Relations Coordinator, Teena Anderson, our individuals have had the great opportunity to learn the importance of sustainability, community engagement, and skill-building.
While at Lynchburg Grows, our individuals have been able to get their hands dirty; harvesting, planting, and packaging local produce.
Lynchburg Grows has set out on a mission to provide access to nourishing and healthy produce for the community. In addition to this, Lynchburg Grows provides job opportunities to adults with disabilities.
We have loved working with this wonderful group and look forward to growing our relationship and some yummy veggies too!
